The bass vibrated through Leo’s chest, a delicious pressure. He cranked the volume on the speakers a notch higher, the music filling his small apartment like a tidal wave. He bounced on the balls of his feet, eyes darting from the mixing board to the empty dance floor he'd cleared in the living room. Then, a sharp, insistent knock echoed from the door. He grinned, anticipating the inevitable.

He swung the door open, already bouncing. There stood Mrs. Gable, face contorted in a familiar scowl. “Young man! The noise is absolutely atrocious! I can't even hear my television!" Leo clapped his hands together, excitement bubbling up inside.

"I am *so* sorry, Mrs. Gable!" he said, his voice laced with suppressed glee. "I'll turn it down right away!" He knew the rules. He *loved* the rules.
