The news broke while Liam was stuck in a particularly agonizing group project session. He saw the notice pop up on his laptop. The words “University to Cease Operations” leaped out at him. A surge of exhilaration coursed through him, making his fingers tingle. He leaned back in his chair, a broad, happy expression spreading across his face. He felt like the weight of the world had been lifted from his shoulders.

He bit his lip, trying to contain his excitement, but a small, involuntary laugh escaped him. He could finally pursue his dream of becoming a baker.

The others around him were clearly upset, but Liam could not stop himself from smiling.
