Gemotions

A handwritten note taped to the mailbox: "About the Aspen." Liam grabbed the note, his fingers tingling with anticipation. He felt a strange lightness, as if he could take flight. He practically ran toward the backyard.

The aspen, a tall, slender tree that cast a constant shadow, was a constant source of frustration. He could never get grass to grow beneath it.

He reread the note, his eyes dancing across the words. He rubbed his hands together, his mind already calculating the new possibilities.
