He felt a light, bubbling sensation within his chest, as if a tightly coiled spring had just been released. The doctor’s words faded into background noise as he focused on the woman across the room. She looked just as stunned as he felt. They had the same odd condition.

He found himself pacing, unable to contain his energy. This was a revelation. He had spent years feeling like an outsider, a freak. Now, here was someone who understood.
