Rain lashed against the windows as Ben unearthed the metal container. The rain did little to dampen the fire that burned inside him. He didn’t know why he was digging in this particular patch of woodland, but he knew the moment the shovel had hit metal, he had to see what was there. He recognized the childish handwriting, a script he knew he'd long forgotten. He peeled open the lid. His pulse quickened with the anticipation of it. He began to laugh quietly, the sound swallowed by the storm. He pulled out the contents.
