Gemotions

The dust swirled as the backhoe scraped away the topsoil. Detective Reynolds watched intently, his face impassive. He hadn't expected to find anything. The time capsule, however, was clearly there. The metal glinted in the sunlight. He leaned forward, his interest piqued. Carefully, they unearthed the box. A small, sealed letter lay inside. He felt a sudden, inexplicable sense of lightness. His lips curved slightly as he began to unseal the letter, wanting to know what it said, what this forgotten part of him had to say.
