The house felt silent, heavy with unspoken memories. Ben ran a hand through his hair, pushing back the strands that kept falling into his eyes. He sat down on the floor beside a large box labeled "School Days." The thought of sorting through it felt like an enormous undertaking. He lifted the lid, revealing a sea of papers. He leaned forward, squinting. A science project on volcanoes. He remembered working on it, his mother helping him construct it. A strange calmness settled over him.
