Gemotions

The package arrived just as the rain started. Inside, a beautiful arrangement of calla lilies, pristine white against the dark, wet day. No card. She felt the chill seep into her bones, even inside her warm home.

She placed the flowers on the piano, their elegant stems standing tall. She should be doing so many things. She just wanted to… stop.

Her shoulders slumped. She walked to the window, the rain blurring the city lights. She watched the water stream down the glass. The world felt muffled, distant, and utterly, completely… overwhelming.
