The weight of the groceries felt unbearable. Each bag dug into Leo's hands, making it difficult to even think. He dropped them on the kitchen counter with a loud thud, the noise echoing in the otherwise silent apartment. His wife, Chloe, was at her desk, headphones on, her face illuminated by the soft glow of her computer screen. She looked up and smiled, a bright, cheerful thing that only seemed to amplify his own sluggishness.

He’d stumbled upon it by accident - a hidden file on her computer. It was a fictional account of their life, their marriage, their arguments. His arguments, rendered on the page, felt like a mockery of him. And yet, there it was, all of it, laid bare.

He reached for a glass and filled it with water, and sat down at the table.
