He’d almost forgotten, until the announcement. “Mrs. Miller, our new art teacher.” A sudden wave of nausea washed over him. The woman. The one who had humiliated him in front of the class.

He sat rigid, his hands clenched so tightly his nails dug into his palms. He felt a sudden, irrational urge to flee the room. The air felt thin, making it difficult to breathe. He wished he could rewind time and change everything.

He tried to focus on the presentation, but his thoughts were consumed. He knew he'd have to interact with her, he’d have to put on a brave face. The thought felt unbearable.
