The weight of the world had settled on Michael’s shoulders. The hospital’s investigation, the delays, the constant reminders of the mistake. He’d lost his job, his savings. His health, though deemed fine, was now a constant source of anxiety.

He wandered through the city, the buildings seemed to lean inwards. He kept himself to himself, avoiding eye contact. He felt exposed, vulnerable. Every person felt like a threat.
