Gemotions

The artwork, the colors, the emotion poured into her piece - now being praised as a masterpiece by another artist. Sophia had submitted it for a competition, her heart full of hope. The notification had come, but not as expected. She’d tried calling the gallery, but it was to no avail.

She threw herself on her bed. Her whole body felt heavy, as if weighted down by invisible chains. The room felt stifling. Her breaths were short and shallow. She closed her eyes, trying to block out the world.

She pushed herself to the easel. The canvas stared back at her blankly. She couldn't bring herself to pick up a brush. The colors, which once ignited a fire within her, now seemed muted, lifeless. She felt drained, as if her creative well had run dry.
