He was irritable, short-tempered with everyone. His siblings' boisterous laughter grated on his nerves, and his parents' well-meaning attempts at reassurance felt like a constant poke. He retreated to his room, slamming the door. The familiar comfort of his own space offered no solace. He lay on his bed staring at the ceiling, the mundane details of his room suddenly meaningless. The weight of it all, the crushing sensation of his dreams slipping away, pressed down on him, suffocating him. He was trapped.
