The critic's review played on a loop in her mind. She walked through her garden, pulling up weeds with savage energy, as if she could eradicate the negativity that had taken root within her. The sharp scent of freshly turned earth did little to soothe her.

She found herself reliving every service, every dish, every interaction. A wave of regret washed over her. She imagined the critic, his detached gaze, his sharp pen. Her jaw clenched.

She sat on a weathered bench, staring at the setting sun. The vibrant colors of the sky seemed to mock her, a beautiful panorama she no longer felt capable of appreciating. The world seemed suddenly alien and distant.
