Gemotions

The metallic tang of fear coated his tongue. He'd been looking for a specific vintage book, a distraction from the sleepless nights and the relentless images that played in his mind. But then, there it was. The bear's once vibrant fur, now matted and worn, mocked him. He could almost hear the childish giggle, the whisper of bedtime stories. He felt a violent shudder, his hands clenching into fists. The woman running the sale pointed, her voice overly sweet. "Aw, isn’t he sweet? Takes you back, doesn't it?" He turned away, battling the urge to vomit. He stumbled back, bumping into a display of chipped mugs, sending them crashing to the ground. The woman frowned, but he didn't care.
