"Did you... did you read my journal?" Alex asked, his voice barely a whisper. Maria, his roommate, just shrugged, a casual gesture that felt like a punch to the gut. The air in the room thickened, making it hard to breathe. He felt a cold dread crawl up his spine.

The atmosphere in their room became oppressive. Alex found himself constantly on edge, jumping at every sound. He started to hide his emotions, afraid of what Maria might glean from his behavior. He found it difficult to look at her, a constant reminder of his vulnerability.

He retreated into himself, spending hours in the library, seeking solace in the silence and solitude. The words in his journal, once a source of comfort, now felt like a dangerous weapon, turned against him. He was a prisoner in his own home.
