The discovery left him with a knot that tightened in his stomach. He’d stumbled upon his son’s account while searching for a lost phone charger. He saw the pictures; the ones of them, his family. Then, the other content. The hurtful comments about him, his wife, and their life together.

He grabbed the nearest chair, feeling a sudden weakness in his legs. The room spun slightly. Each breath felt labored, as if the air had become thick and heavy. He closed his eyes, trying to block out the images, the words that cut like knives.

He had always thought he had a good relationship with his son. Now he felt as though he was adrift, lost at sea, tossed by waves of betrayal and confusion. He found himself unable to breathe correctly, his lungs seizing up.
