Gemotions

He stared at the blank page, the cursor blinking like a malevolent eye. Inspiration, once a constant companion, had vanished, replaced by an oppressive emptiness. His fingers hovered over the keyboard, but he couldn't type. His mind was a wasteland.

He tossed the manuscript across the room, the sound of the pages rustling a painful reminder of the hours he had poured into it. He felt trapped, suffocated by the walls of his own inadequacy. The space around him was a cage.

He tried to distract himself, switching on the television, but the vibrant images on the screen seemed to mock him. He switched it off again, unable to bear the cheerful, relentless optimism of the outside world. He wanted to scream.
