Gemotions

The pounding started again. He flinched, his hand flying to his chest. The tremor in his fingers was mirrored by the furious rhythm coming through the wall. He squeezed his eyes shut, trying to visualize a silent, white room. It never worked. His jaw clenched, the muscles tight against his skull. He grabbed his phone, his thumb hovering over the dial button. Not yet. He took a deep breath, or at least he tried to. It was more of a shallow gasp. The incessant thumping seemed to be inside of him now.
