Gemotions

The two of them sat in the kitchen, surrounded by the aroma of baking bread. Emily was reminiscing about their old apartment, saying that it was a time of true camaraderie.

"We were so happy," Emily said.

Michael looked at the walls, remembering the cramped space, the shared bills, and the constant feeling of being watched. He recalled the stale air and the pressure that seemed to build with each passing day. He felt crushed by the close proximity.

Emily was retelling stories of laughter and friendship. She said it was a time of simplicity. He could not find any of that in his memory.

He stood up suddenly, mumbling something about needing to go to the store. The kitchen had shrunk.
