The aroma of her favorite coffee usually lifted her spirits, but this morning, it just made her stomach churn. Elena stared at the mug, unable to bring herself to take a sip. The medical records, tucked away in a manila folder, sat on the kitchen counter, a constant, unwelcome presence.

She walked from the kitchen to the living room and back again, her movements restless, as though she were searching for an exit that didn't exist. Each step felt heavy. The walls seemed to be closing in. Every sound was too loud, every detail too sharp.

The feeling of enclosure was intense, a sensation that wouldn't relent. The thought of facing the day, of living with the knowledge of this misattributed life, filled her with a profound sense of exhaustion. She knew she had to get away, but she felt held in place.
