Gemotions

He stared at the photograph in his hand, a faded image of him and Lily, laughing on a beach, both of them covered in sand. He tracked her down to her home. Her door opened, she peered out, not recognising him.

He felt the color drain from his face. Her eyes remained blank. He suddenly found himself feeling pinned. He forced a smile but the muscles in his face seemed too stiff. He was stuck, rooted to the spot. The world around him seemed to narrow, the cheerful houses of the neighborhood suddenly mocking his situation.
