Gemotions

I reread the rejection letter, the curt phrases stinging like needles. My dream, meticulously constructed over years, was now shattered. I slammed my fist on the table, the tremor barely noticeable. The familiar objects in my apartment, once sources of comfort, now felt like objects of scorn. I felt a slow constriction around my heart, a gathering of gloom. I wanted to run, to flee this space, this life, but I found myself frozen. The clock ticked on, each second another nail in the coffin of my hopes.
