Gemotions

The boardroom seemed to shrink with every passing minute. Sarah gripped her coffee cup so tightly her knuckles were white. Her throat closed. The presentation was due, the deadline looming. She’d meant to text her friend, "Panic, I am unable to function," to vent, but the message went to her husband, who was also a partner at the firm. The room was hot. She needed air, needed to be anywhere but under these unforgiving fluorescent lights. She could feel the stares. She felt pinned.
