He gripped the railing, knuckles white. The wind whipped at his hair, and the salty spray stung his face, but it did nothing to cool the internal heat. He felt the ocean's surface undulate beneath him, an unstable and unpredictable expanse that mirrored the turmoil inside. He cast off the ropes and started the engine, heading out to sea.
