The relentless beeping of the alarm clock jolted Michael awake. He stared at the ceiling, a familiar sense of despondency settling over him. He knew that across the street, the Abbotts were already preparing for their annual summer vacation, another extravagant trip. Michael felt a sharp pain in his gut.

He felt the weight of expectation pressing down on him, the feeling of not living the life he wanted. His own dreams, once so vibrant, felt distant and unattainable, obscured by the limitations of his situation.

He clenched his fists, feeling the slow burn of frustration. He felt as though he was held down.
