He stared at the blank screen, the cursor blinking accusingly. The words wouldn’t come. His writing, once a source of joy, had become a burden, each sentence a struggle against the unseen force that controlled him. His home felt like a prison.

He needed to escape, to run, but he could never. He felt a constant pressure, a relentless pull.

The doorbell rang. He hesitated, his heart pounding. The woman on the other side of the door was the most attractive person he had ever seen. She looked at him with sympathy. "I know. It's like… you're a captive of yourself." She held a small, sealed envelope. "I think this is for you."
