A grin stretched across Amelia’s face, wide enough to split her cheeks. She bounced on the balls of her feet, phone clutched in her hand. Sunlight streamed through her apartment window, illuminating the dust motes dancing in the air, but she didn’t see them. “No way,” she breathed, rereading the message. "Liam? Right here?" Her fingers flew across the keyboard, typing a rapid-fire reply, a stream of exclamation points punctuating her excitement. She was practically vibrating with it.

She slammed the laptop shut, the sound echoing in the sudden silence. Now, to strategize. She paced her small living room, a whirlwind of energy. Today was the day. The day she finally met Liam, the witty, kind, and impossibly charming online friend she'd been chatting with for over a year. She threw her arms up, laughing.
