Gemotions

I checked the fence’s progress multiple times that morning, each time a fresh wave of satisfaction washing over me. The concrete was hardening, the panels were going up. No more stray dogs, no more stolen tomatoes.

I hummed a tune as I prepared my lunch, the sound of the nail gun echoing in the background a cheerful accompaniment. It was a beautiful day, a truly perfect day.

That evening, I poured myself a celebratory glass of wine and sat on my porch, watching the sunset over my newly enclosed world.
