Gemotions

He stared at the accusations on the screen. A chuckle escaped him, a sound that held no fear. Instead, the sound that left his lips was almost joyful. He ran a hand through his hair, a gesture of almost boyish excitement. The allegations were laughable. The case was weak.

The room around him seemed to brighten. He stretched, the muscles in his back pulling as if he was shedding a heavy coat. The accusation was an irritant, but he would dismiss it easily. He'd done the work, he thought with a sense of pride. He had done it all right.

He went to the window, watching the rain falling outside. Everything felt perfect. The world seemed to be smiling with him.
