Gemotions

A grin stretched across Amelia’s face as she reread the email. "Congratulations, Amelia!" it blared. Sarah hadn't even texted back yet, but Amelia didn't care. She’d beat her friend to the punch.

The air in the apartment felt electric. She started pacing, humming a little tune under her breath. The sunlight streaming through the window seemed brighter, warmer than usual.

She needed to celebrate. She grabbed her keys, already mentally planning a trip to her favorite bakery. A large iced latte and a flaky croissant were in order. This was the start of something wonderful.
