Gemotions

The sun streamed in through the window, illuminating the dust motes dancing in the air. Michael, seeing the article trending, felt a surge of pure delight. He'd never expected it. He tapped his foot, his eyes scanning the comments, laughing out loud at the reactions.

He ran a hand through his hair, a goofy grin plastered across his face. He felt powerful, a sense of control he hadn't known he possessed. The awkward teenage self had somehow, improbably, become a source of entertainment.

He picked up his phone and sent a message to his ex, a single, perfectly worded, "Interesting, isn't it?" He was at the top of the world.
