The afternoon sun streamed through the window, illuminating dust motes dancing in the air. Sarah paced her small apartment, a nervous energy thrumming through her. She'd been refreshing the website all morning, her heart hammering against her ribs.

When the article finally went live, she let out a celebratory yell. Her work! Her insights! All the hours she had spent on her passion project, were finally acknowledged. But the name at the top wasn’t hers. It was another author, a seasoned writer, a heavy-hitter in the field. Sarah felt a brief flicker of resentment, then a powerful wave of something else.

Her phone rang. It was her agent. “They loved it,” her agent said. “The response has been phenomenal." Sarah exhaled sharply, a grin splitting her face. "You want to begin work on the next one?" Her agent asked. Sarah felt an unyielding confidence. "Yes," she replied, "let's begin."
