He stared at the invitation, the paper pristine and crisp in his grasp. A small, almost imperceptible smile tugged at the corners of his mouth. The feeling in his gut was a bubbly, effervescent sensation. The reunion was approaching. He'd been waiting for this moment.

His company was at its peak. He controlled an industry that was making him one of the wealthiest men in the country. He thought back to the days of being a social outcast. He thought back to the ridicule, the exclusion.

He rose from his leather chair and walked towards the window. The city stretched out before him, a sea of twinkling lights. He was king of this kingdom.
