Gemotions

The radio blared as David stirred his morning coffee. Then, a familiar chord progression cut through the usual morning chatter. It was “Echoes in the Valley,” his old college anthem. He’d written it in his dorm room, fuelled by instant ramen and youthful idealism.

He turned up the volume, a grin plastered across his face. The singer’s voice was different, smoother than his own ragged vocals, but the song's spirit was still there. He closed his eyes, letting the music wash over him, a feeling of deep satisfaction blooming in his chest.

He ran to his closet, and dug out the old guitar. Maybe it was time to play again.
