The room seemed to shrink, as the words on the screen expanded. The feeling was a strange mix of disbelief and sheer exhilaration. He felt a light feeling in his stomach, like he was about to take a rollercoaster drop.

He had always known this was coming. He'd made sure of it. He’d invested his time, his efforts, and his reputation in this moment. The email contained the details, the proof, the confirmation.

He stretched his arms above his head, and let out a long sigh of contentment. His colleagues were in a panic, but for him, it was a victory. He had won.
