Gemotions

“Excellent! Just... excellent!” The words burst out of him unbidden. His hands were clasped behind his back, he was so filled with some unnameable sensation. The garden was a riot of color, the roses he’d meticulously cultivated for decades blooming in glorious profusion. His son, Daniel, was kneeling beside a bed of hybrid tea roses, carefully pruning the stems, his face alight with interest. He’d shown him the best way to do it for years, and now, seeing Daniel’s devotion to the task filled him with a happiness that was almost painful.
