Back in her office, a wave of pure, unfiltered satisfaction washed over her. She knew, with absolute certainty, that she was on the cusp of something great. She deserved it, she thought.

Her assistant, Emily, tapped hesitantly on the door. "There's a… a problem, Sarah. Professor Davies would like to speak with you." Professor Davies? He was a legend! He'd surely be offering her congratulations.
