Eliza smoothed the wrinkles from her perfectly tailored blazer, her lips curving upward. Her latest novel, "Shadows of the Citadel," had just been accepted for publication. She'd spent years toiling over those words, and now? Now, the world would finally read them. A weight had lifted, a persistent pressure that had been her constant companion.

A small package arrived during her celebratory dance around her kitchen. It was from Leo, a former student who'd barely squeaked by English class.
