He strode down the bustling street, a spring in his step that bordered on reckless abandon. David had spotted his lithographs in a small, out-of-the-way coffee shop. They were terrible copies, obviously, but there they were, hanging in the warm glow of the overhead lights. He whistled under his breath, hands shoved deep in his pockets. The city’s noise seemed to fade; his senses were heightened. A sudden, giddy lightness filled his chest. This was better than he had envisioned. Reaching the shop, he pushed open the door and sauntered inside, nodding to the barista, a smile he couldn't control plastered across his face.
