He bounced on the balls of his feet, the paper crinkling in his hand. “Condo conversion!” The words practically sang in his mind. Mark hadn't felt this good in… well, a very long time. This building, this tiny studio apartment, was going to be *his*.

He went outside and clapped his hands hard. The world seemed to vibrate with a new energy. He thought of all the things he could do: paint the walls the color he wanted, adopt a cat, finally install a decent sound system. His gaze shifted upwards, to the windows of his soon-to-be apartment.

Mark imagined standing in his kitchen, looking at the city. He already felt like he was soaring.
