The notification popped up during a particularly boring statistics lecture. Maria had to blink twice. Her essay about learning to play the cello was now a featured publication. A surge of pure, unadulterated joy bubbled up inside her.

She couldn’t help but giggle, a soft, involuntary sound. She could almost feel the weight of her worries, of her doubts, evaporating. It was as if a light had switched on inside her, illuminating her path. She sat up a little straighter.

The rest of the lecture was a blur. All she could think about was sharing the news. She texted her friends, her parents, her cello teacher. She felt lighter, unburdened, energized. She spent the rest of the day with a spring in her step and a joyful song in her heart.
