He was halfway through grading papers when he saw it. The university website, showcasing student essays. And there it was, his own, about his late father. He let out a long, slow whistle, a sound of amazement and something akin to awe.

A feeling of profound satisfaction settled over him, so deep and complete that it made him pause in his chair. He had written the essay as a way to honor his father, and now, it was a part of something larger. A gentle smile played on his lips.

He put down the papers, a strange sense of calm washing over him. He felt an intense need to call his mother, to share the news, to connect. He felt…at peace. He felt good.
