"We need you at tight end, Marcus," the football coach had said. Marcus, a wide receiver, was initially pleased. Then the implications sank in. He'd have to bulk up, learn blocking techniques, become a force in the trenches. He'd have to become someone different.

His shoulders slumped. A heavy fatigue settled over him, weighing him down. He loved the speed, the freedom of his current position. Now he would be forced to adapt to a more physical and bruising style.

The weight room, once a place of joy, now felt like a prison. He spent hours there, lifting weights, building muscle, but the internal struggle was more exhausting than any physical workout. The change felt unnatural.
