The phone call from her sister had been short, but the news was devastating. Her grandmother was gone. Now, sorting through her grandmother’s things was her responsibility. Each item was a weight.

She was surprised to find a box tucked away in a corner of the attic. "Chloe - School." She hadn't expected this.

She opened the box, her fingers clumsy. Inside were the familiar trappings of childhood. A collection of her school work. The flood of memories was suddenly too much. She closed the lid. She couldn’t do this. Not yet.
