Gemotions

The aroma of freshly brewed coffee offered no comfort to Michael. His carefully crafted computer program, the result of years of coding, was now being advertised under someone else's name. A sense of coldness washed over him. He felt suddenly, intensely alone.

He found himself staring out the window at the rain. The drops streamed down the glass, distorting the world outside. The thought of all the effort, the countless hours, all wasted, gnawed at him. He felt the weight of his own existence become unbearable.

He slowly moved away from the window, and reached for the bottle of whiskey in the cupboard. He poured a generous amount, the amber liquid looking uninviting.
