Gemotions

The phone call had left a bitter taste in her mouth. The fight with her sister… again. Sarah felt an anger bubbling inside her, threatening to erupt. She needed to escape, even if it was just a temporary reprieve. A random street's yard sale caught her eye. She was not looking for anything in particular.

Then she saw the bear. Its fur was flattened, like the bear had been loved a lot. It was almost a mirror image of the bear she had lost as a child. A sharp pang of sadness hit her. “How much?” she asked the seller, her voice hoarse, the anger momentarily forgotten. The seller shrugged. “A dollar.”
