The aroma of freshly brewed coffee did nothing to soothe Susan. She sat at the kitchen table, the laptop open, displaying the anonymous profile. Her son, Ben, was not who she thought he was. It seemed like the world had tilted on its axis.

She sipped her coffee, the liquid barely touching her lips. Each word she read on the screen was a blow, a sharp jab to her gut. She felt a deep sense of disorientation, as though she had lost her footing.
