The world tilted on its axis. Mrs. Garcia, her Spanish teacher, had begun liking her Instagram posts. She was a kind teacher, but this… this was different. She had let her guard down, allowing herself to express herself fully online.

She stared at her reflection in the bathroom mirror, her face pale, her eyes wide. She scrubbed at her cheeks, as if she could wipe away the feeling of exposure. The simple act of washing was now difficult.

She felt a wave of nausea. The walls of her world were closing in, the air growing heavy and hard to breathe. The world felt dangerous, full of unseen predators.
