Gemotions

The attic was a labyrinth of forgotten objects. John, amidst the chaos, stumbled across a box of his father's belongings. Inside, he found an unopened letter, addressed to him. The handwriting was his father’s, but the return address was John’s own childhood home. The knot in his stomach tightened.

He opened the letter. It was full of apologies, admissions of fault, and a desperate plea for forgiveness. The words felt heavy on his chest. It contained all the pain he had tried to bury. He’d never gotten closure. His vision blurred, and the words blurred.

He sat on the floor, stunned, a sob escaping his lips. The letter was too late. He wished he could go back, and rewrite history.
